You can just bet that it will happen and it's not going to be fun. Where the levels that things have built up to can't be wound down cleanly anymore, there has to be a clean up and it's going to be messy.epvhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01563873887885098509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1500499634306365143.post-32476553354874915512009-07-13T19:08:04.894-10:002009-07-13T19:08:04.894-10:00Your Lone Crackpots include Paul Krugman, Brad DeL...Your Lone Crackpots include Paul Krugman, Brad DeLong and plenty of other credentialed economistsUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01874452998675783899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1500499634306365143.post-3271466061826357822009-07-13T17:34:57.534-10:002009-07-13T17:34:57.534-10:00That's the crux of it. Because of the huge deflationary pressures, we don't see inflation, and we won't see inflation until credit sources actually turn around again (which they won't for a while). The problem will come when the Fed needs to raise rates again to prevent inflation. Will they do it? Will it even work when they try it? It's not going to be fun, that's for sure.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
